Stair Moulds
We manufacture our stair moulds from timber and 18m-birch plywood, usually filled through the underside of the unit although they can be made as cast using a series of boards to form the risers and goings.

This stair mould had a hardwood nosing rebated into it to protect the plywood edge that would otherwise be showing, also you can see three lengths of half round timber per tread to form an anti slip section towards the front of each step.
Part of a set of 4 this mould was used to create a dramatic stairway and gallery.

An example of a mould filled “as cast” is pictured here. This mould has 4 winding treads at the top and due to the fact the underside of the mould was to have a fair face finish the decision was made to coat the soffit with tissue and resin.
